In 2018, our founding team recognized a structural problem in fintech venture capital. Exceptional founders with solid market opportunities were failing because they lacked access to operational infrastructure and institutional capital.

As management consultants advising multiple PE and VC firms on building and scaling fintech companies, we saw this pattern repeatedly. The best ideas failed not because the markets were wrong or the teams weren't capable—but because the support systems didn't exist.

So we decided to build The Lab ourselves. We took our operational expertise, our capital network, and our technical depth in financial services and created a new model: active venture building instead of passive fund management.
